FWES concert, spring, and summer info
FWES ORCHESTRA CONCERT INFO—MAY 2017
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE OF FWES ORCHESTRA REHEARSALS AND CONCERTS VERY CAREFULLY AND POST IT AT HOME.
TUESDAY—5/2 & 5/9/17 @ 7:30am Advanced Orchestra in GYM
WEDNESDAY—5/3/17 @ 7:30am Beginner Orchestra rehearsal in GYM
TUESDAY 5/9/17 @ 2:00 PM
All string students are to report to the cafeteria to tune
no later than 1:45 PM
!! The concert dress is nice school clothes.
TUESDAY 5/9/17 @ 7:00 PM
All Beginner & Advanced Orchestra students are to report no later than 6:45pm to the cafeteria for tuning and warm up.
The concert attire is a white top with a black skirt/pair of pants.
There will be
no more morning orchestra
rehearsals after the 5/9/17 evening concert.
Group lessons will continue until Friday 6/9/17.
The string demo for the 2nd grade will occur on Tuesday 5/30/17—details to follow.
Honors Orchestra UDES Concert Tour—Wed. 5/31/17—no lessons that day.
Honors Orchestra students meet at MGES at 7:30 AM for the tour on 5/31/17.
FWES ORCHESTRA SUMMERTIME INFO
Please consider attending a local summer music program if you are staying in the area for most of the summer months, and/or weekly lessons with a private teacher. There are special local summer music programs offered at the Ambler School of Music, Settlement Music School in Willow Grove, and the Wissahickon School District—see Mrs. Herrmann for info. A list of area private teachers is available upon request, and is posted on the wikispace at
Please consider continuing your rentals during the summer months. If you do return the instrument for the summer, be aware that you will start with a whole new contract for the next year, losing any credit earned from this year’s rental. All rentals for Sept. 2017 should be confirmed with the music store by the end of August 2017.
