Amanda Handfinger – Host
Lower Moreland School District//

Dear Parents/Guardians,
This year, the Lower Moreland School District is hosting PMEA District 11 5th Grade Elementary School String Fest on Friday, January 27, 2017 (snow date Friday, February 3, 2017) at Lower Moreland High School. PMEA is a nationally sponsored organization for music teachers, promoting excellence in music education. As part of their programs, they host events at all levels to honor exceptional young musicians and display their abilities and talents.
Participating students will arrive at Lower Moreland High School with their orchestra director between 11:00 and 11:45. They will then rehearse with the participating students from other school districts, and the day will end with a concert for family and friends at 7:00 PM. Students should bring their own lunch. A snack, drinks, and dinner will be provided for the students. Please make sure to fill out the dietary restrictions form so I can make sure students with food allergies have appropriate food available.
Dress code for the concert is nice black bottoms and black shoes. Students will receive a String Fest shirt to wear for the concert and should come to the rehearsal already in their black pants and shoes.

If your child would like to participate in this event, please return the String Fest packet to your orchestra director by Friday, December 2, 2016. Your child will then receive the music. Thank you so much for your consideration to allow your child to participate in this incredible musical opportunity.
Sincerely yours,

Amanda Handfinger
Lower Moreland Orchestra Director
